PEARLS’ 2024 Brand Refresh
To embark on this journey, we started with a Brand Audit. We conducted focus groups with all our stakeholders, especially our girls, and passed out surveys to get feedback about what was working (and what was not). The results were overwhelmingly positive, and the PEARLS brand was strong! Yet a few things became abundantly clear: the logo needed a little makeover to help clarify our name and reflect the girls we’re serving today, and we needed to define more clearly and simply what PEARLS does, and why PEARLS has been so impactful over the years.
Thus, this idea of a Rebrand turned into a Branding Refresh. We started with what we knew we needed to keep:
The Mission – some things will never change and the WHY behind PEARLS is one of them. It’s always been about putting our GIRLS FIRST and will continue to be.
Purple – it is iconically PEARLS, and everyone loves it – so it was going to stay!
With this fresh look, we wanted to maintain the same energy, movement, and uniqueness as the old logo – and we are thrilled with how this turned out!
PEARLS is all caps. It’s an acronym some of the very first PEARLS girls created to help guide them on their journey to becoming their best selves.
You read that right: PEARLS was created by girls, for girls. We want to scream this from the top of the Northwestern Mutual tower!
You can call us just PEARLS. Over the years, we’ve heard PEARLS for Girls, PEARLY girls, Girls for PEARLS, PEARLS For Teens – and more! So, let’s just simplify! The “For Teen Girls” part isn’t really accurate anyway– we serve 5th-12th grade, so not all girls are teens when they join.
PEARLS has a transformative impact in the lives of girls, their families and their communities. There are thousands of stories, and we can’t wait to share more of them with you.
